Is There Really anything to This Anti-Aging Stuff and can we really stop the aging process? - Part 2Dear Friend,Today, as promised I'll present you with some "surrogate" data that suggest that we can indeed live longer and healthier by getting the right nutrition. Please be aware that a lot of people especially doctors are not fond of this information. It suggests that the core principles upon which today's modern medicine are built are wrong or short sighted at best. There is also strong evidence that we can "beat our genetics" by live style and dietary modification, or at least make the most of what our genetics give us. First let's look at population studies. These are studies of large groups of individuals living in similar environments, in some cases with similar genetics. This type of "population based" study filters out the effects of genetic mixing, social factors, and broad geographic differences. If you look at the 2 longest lived populations in the world Japanese and Icelandic you find that they are also among the healthiest, in spite of alcohol consumption, smoking and other social behaviors that are considered health risks.
They have less heart disease and stroke than we do. They have less prostate and breast cancer than we do. And per capita they spend tons less on health care than we do. And yet they are far healthier. Various reason have been brought forth to explain this including coral calcium. Problem is there is no coral calcium in Iceland! If we look at the next longest living country, Switzerland, we find it is land locked. No coral calcium there either!
