Is There Really anything to This Anti-Aging Stuff and can we really stop the aging process? - Part 1Dear Friend,"Is There Really anything to This Anti-Aging Stuff and can we really stop the aging process?" The short answer is of course, "That depends on who you talk to". And you know that since I am an Anti-Aging Doc you can pretty much guess what I am going to say. BUT! The rest of this email will probably surprise you so read on. I did a teleseminar last night and there were a lot of good questions. It is impossible with current technology to answer that question because there is no way to design a study to follow several generations through several lifetimes over several centuries. The closest thing we have now is the Framingham Heart Study and this has been going on for around 45 years looking mainly at risk factors for heart disease. Zyprexa, a drug affecting the central nervous system is the latest to be under serious scrutiny. It seems to cause increased numbers of cases of diabetes, pancreatitis and you guessed it Death!

So the honest answer is well no one can be 100% sure that anything we do will make us live longer as race. But we do know this much. Right now the average in this country is 78 years. So we are shy by about 42 years. Now I don't know about you but if there are 42 years more to be had and life stays anywhere near as interesting as it is now, then I want those extra 42years! Next question. What if we are wrong and the average age goes to only 80 and that's it! Well I seriously doubt this is accurate just looking at how much the average lifespan has gone up in the past 150 years. It has gone up by about 40 years! But what if! Well then would rather spend my 80 years in the most absolute perfect health I can and at 79.9 years then I'll take a nose dive and check out. None of this nursing home for 10 years stuff for me. As I pointed out a few days ago that is what is so terrifying about Alzheimer's Disease. The mind dies long before the body in most cases. So I am doing everything I can with my research supplement generation and the continued gathering of knowledge in the field to assure that I have the best chance at the longest healthiest life I can. And I am passing long that information and that opportunity to you as well.
