Nutritional Healing Of Heart Disease Part 2Dear Friend,Yesterday we examined the “Medical Totem Pole” and a few of the reasons why my words continue to fall on deaf ears in the Medical community. At this point I want to thank the many of you who’ve sent in testimonials about Dr Dave’s Best Pharmaceutical Grade Fish Oil and the many benefits you have had from using it. Now let’s look at a few other ways that Fish Oil may prevent Heart and other vascular diseases. We already talked about stopping deadly heart arrhythmias, and some of the anti-inflammatory benefits. One of the ideas that was recently proven not to be true lately was that heart disease was caused by and infection by bacteria know as Chlamydia. But, there is so much more fish oil does at the level of blood vessels that I am trying to get my heart doctor friends and other colleagues to understand. One of the things that a lot of people forget is that fish oil reduces blood pressure. It does so by a very complex series of events that involve things that open blood vessels up. You see your blood vessels are not like the fixed hard plumbing pipes in your house. They are more like balloons which can be inflated and deflated by “neuro-humoral” mechanisms. In English this means the amount of nervous stimulation and hormonal stimulation they get. Some of these factors are circulating throughout the body, and some of them are made locally right at the level of the individual blood vessels. The most famous of these is Nitric Oxide. In both an Ironic funny and “Ha Ha” funny way, we have the body building press to thank for bringing it to the attention of so many people. Ever hungry for the edge in the gym and willing to buy ad try anything including unhealthy and worthless supplements, body builders (at least the average wannabe at the gym) jumped all over the phony science that was used to sell “Nitric Oxide Enhancing Supplements”. Like many things in that subculture it didn’t last long, but I did bring the concept to the mass consciousness. Nitric Oxide is a very potent opener of blood vessels. It causes them to relax and allows more blood to flow. Nitroglycerin under the tongue is used as an emergency measure for heart pain because it immediately raises the level of Nitric Oxide in the blood stream. This allows more blood to flow through the heart blood vessels . It also opens up blood vessels all over the body dropping blood pressure quickly which is why you should be sitting down it you take it. A more graphic example is the drug Viagra. Pfizer, the massive drug company that pioneered its release was originally trying to find another better anti-heart pain drug. Can you imagine the conversation the head researcher had with his company boss!!? “Uh yeah Joe , that’s right, this drug doesn’t work very well for heart pain, but we noticed a funny thing happened to all these guys that took it!!!” Any way the point is, fish oil increases local Nitric Oxide levels in the heart’s blood vessels keeping them more” open”. This has many implications in the prevention of heart attack as well as prevention of closing of heart stents and balloon jobs (angioplasty). I predict that if a study is done with Fish Oil in patients who have had stents put in there heart blood vessels it will be shown that Fish Oil is a very great addition to their medical routine. Now we get to the issue of Plaque stabilization. A plague is a blob of inflamed fat and smooth muscle that has grown to shut off blood flow in a heart artery. In the old days a very simple explanation was given as o why high cholesterol led to heart attacks. The stuff simply stuck to the blood vessels of the heart and clogged the arteries. This ignored the fact that many people with normal cholesterol levels had heart attacks. Also ignored a heart breaking event that some of you may have lost a loved one to: Plaque rupture. The typical scenario for this is an otherwise young healthy usually male person drops over dead of a massive heart attack leaving behind a young wife and kids. We now know that a certain percentage of people form “unstable Plaques” which may not even come close to blocking there arteries if you look at them. Normally a 30% blockage would mean very little but if the plaque becomes unstable and ruptures, it basically disintegrates and closes the heart artery in catastrophic fashion. Fish Oil inhibits the smooth muscle growth and inflammation that causes this to happen in all types of heart attacks, even those caused by plaque rupture. Since you only know you have this problem when you ”wake up in heaven”(hopefully) it makes a hell of a lot of sense to supplement and protect yourself from it!! Two things that stand out are the mention of genetic expression and the large scale clinical trials. This reinforces what I have been telling you all along.
