Most people would agree that there are differences, many differences in fact, between a man and a woman.
But what about body types?
Men and women "get fat" differently.
Just look around you the next time you go to the mall and you'll see exactly what I mean.
Men tend to accumulate large amounts of abdominal fat and women get heavy in their bottoms and thighs.

Now what about the different areas of fat?
In a recent study of 6,000 men and women it was found that men indeed do accumulate more belly fat and women more thigh and buttock fat.
But at some point people gain enough weight that you can no longer tell the difference.
Women can and do get fat abdomens and men do put weight on in their behinds and legs.
By the time this happens most of these men and women are already into the severely or morbidly obese range, however.
Abdominal fat turns out to be more deadly, thus the men in the study got sick first and in a sense got sicker overall.
Another reason why men check out first!
But women also developed illnesses like diabetes at a high rate too.
As a matter of fact, once either sex got to a certain point, the risks of abdominal fat and hip/thigh/buttock fat became additive and there wasn't much difference.
Bottom line, if you want to live longer, lose weight!
