This may seem like a strange email coming from a 50 year old doc but I know some of you have kids in school who are about to an take exam that may change the course of their lives forever. It was a long time ago when I was in this position but I remember it well for several reasons.
I remember that virtually every test I took in college and beyond had the power to shape my future life because I had chosen to be a doctor.
In this regard I was truly competing for a spot in Med School with some of the best and brightest people in the county and frankly, the world. One misstep could have ended my chances forever.
Some of you are in the same boat with your kids and maybe even yourself.
Last week I took and passed another anti-aging board exam, this one oral. It reminded me of many of the interview's I had to go through in the admission process for med school. I joked with a colleague that I felt like I was back in college or med school.
Like many of you I have to maintain a current up-to-date knowledge base and educational credits to stay “the world’s greatest anti-aging doc,” a title I have held since 2003.
Like many of you, there are consequences to failing an exam that has far reaching results.
So whether you’re taking a test on a regular basis like I am to prove to the world you belong where you are, or whether you have children in school who are in the same boat, I have some advice for you.

But this is not about me because I am really not that smart. In this past year I have gotten to speak to more of them than usual because of my travels and it has been 100% fun and enlightening.
I have to do everything I can to keep this brain of mine functioning at its best to run with not only the top scientists in the world but you, my friend, and people like you.
