First off we have gotten a bunch of requests for updates on the next boot camp.
So many in fact that we started keeping a list because we may need to cap the entries as we have in the past. But for the next one (our 3rd this year), which is in November and likely at the IHP in Boca Raton again, we may go for a much bigger number.
As a matter of fact we are joining forces with some very big hitters in the fitness industry who have taken a keen interest in our cutting edge training for fitness and fat loss.

A bunch of you have asked about my two books and why the titles are so secret. Well for the same reason the movie thing is so secret: the people publishing/producing have asked me to keep silent until things are done. I must confess with everything that is going on I have been a wee bit remiss on my writing but I can feel a giant writing jag coming on soon!

Congrats, Maria! The reason they are still secret is that we are running mighty low on them and the next shipment, while due any day, is not in yet. So the secret is still a secret.
“Dr. Dave, some of us who do not have gall bladders, as they have been surgically removed for one reason or another, have been told that taking Fish oil does us no good as it just passes through and out and does not get absorbed. Please straighten us out on this issue as I feel that there is plenty of evidence that Fish oil is very beneficial. Do we, without Gallbladders, need to take special supplements as the gall bladder is there to handle fats? Thank you very much!” - GWT
First off, my mom takes 8 fish oil a day and has no GB.
Next, if your GB was absolutely needed for fat digestion you would immediately develop steatorrhea (think of the weight loss drug Alli!) and fat malabsorption and become deficient in all fat soluble vitamins.
Now it’s true some people do have some minor issues with certain foods after GB removal but this usually settles down as the other fat absorption mechanisms pick up the slack.
So fortunately the gall bladder is more like the little toe: it’s there to get in the way. And while the GB does help digest fat it is pretty much redundant in most people and they can digest fat just as well as the next person. I would start slowly, maybe 2 to 3 caps over a days time with meals and then increase to a dose of 6/day as you tolerate.
Finally I got another one of those ‘Dr. Dave how do you do it’ emails so it’s time to bare my soul.
How do I write, research, travel, write books, play in movies, run ultra marathons, create successful charities and constantly expand my horizons?
The simple answer is my supplements and my love of the life I have created, which is not always smooth sailing. Since it seems everyone is giving advice on how to be successful these days and people are actually ASKING ME that question I will answer it simply.
1) To thine own self be true. Pursue the things that matter and ignore the things that don’t.
2) Don’t let the outside sway or worse, dictate what goes on inside.
3) Fix your world before you fix the world. It took me 7 years to get to the point where I could start a charity that is successful but I did it!
4) Allow yourself the dignity to try and fail and allow yourself the honor of learning from it.
5) Never lose faith in yourself and don’t sell anyone short, especially yourself.
6) Be genuine and have integrity. Learn about stuff before you open your mouth but don’t be speak up if the emperor has no clothes!
