In today's installment I review the information about protein, weight loss and fat loss.
All of which is more relevant than ever in the coming weeks!
If you look at holiday fare it tends to be very calorie dense and very high in refined sugar and processed grains.
This does not help your health, and it's pretty tough to "exercise it away".
We can all agree that next to swine flu, which may not mutate, obesity is the most dangerous health care problem we are facing.
It is far reaching and transcends generations increasing the risk for diabetes heart diseases and stroke.
While no one has really done the full blown study I thin it s safe to say fat people die younger on the whole as well.
Long before there was a 7-11 on every corner our ancestors had to go out and hunt and gather their food.
At that time protein made up over 50% of the diet and carbs (all unrefined obviously) made up a measly 17%.
So the first common sense rule is eat to fit your genetics.
You are genetically programmed for a pretty high protein diet. Our genetic makeup has not changed in the past 50,000 years.
Also high protein low carb diets reduce appetite and better your sugar metabolism via better insulin.
