Einstein was from MissouriDear Friend,There is an old saying, "I am from Missouri on this one!" The implication of course is that this person is a skeptic about stuff he doesn't see with his own eyes, Missouri being the "Show Me" state. Dr Dave, I saw this really cool product out there by another company that has a bunch more stuff in it that Instant Brain Power and is quite a bit cheaper. It made me wonder why should I by your stuff. Your Einstein doesn't even have Ginkgo Biloba in it. Why not! Tedd Severance, Petaluma Ca Let me address the first part of Tedd's question before dealing with the Ginkgo issue. While I am not going to name names on Tedd's product I will say that it is pushed by another "Alternative Health Guru"...who smokes! In their copy they also refer to my product Instant Brain Power and talk about 3 secrets to a better memory none of which they actually ever tell you. If it were not for this, especially the fact that they are using the name of one of my products in their copy I would leave them alone. But, never a shrinking violet, I am going head to head with Tedd and this product. Looking over the ingredients the first error I see is a big dose of standard multi vitamin type material: A, B, C, and E.
The vitamin C is as ascorbic acid which costs about 5 cents for 100 pounds and does not cross into the blood brain barrier effectively. Ascorbly Palmitate, the fat soluble form is preferred for this application. This should be the territory of a multi, like Monster Multi where these ingredients are put in their proper proportion, not in a brain enhancement formula. It looks to me like they got lazy or had some unused multis lying around and built their formula around them. Next there are a series of ingredients like selenium, which we usually see in prostate formulas, PABA from sunscreen fame some amino acids and grape seed extract and the wrong kind of lecithin at the wrong does to do anything in the brain. Finally they add Ginkgo with GABA. GABA or gamma amino butyric acid is a tranquilizer that works by raising dopamine levels in the brain. I don't know about you but the last thing I want from my brain formula is to be tranquilized! Now for Ginkgo. Have you noticed we don't hear much about Ginkgo anymore? Ever wonder why? Because the number of studies that show it actually works are fewer than the number that shows it doesn't. It is often hard to standardize thus difficult to assure Pharmaceutical Grade. Finally it has been implicated in more than one case of bleeding into the brain, a side effect I definitely don't want and I bet you don't either! So in summary my estimation of this compound is that it is a waste basket capsule for someone who did not know what they are doing and/or had a bunch of crap laying around they couldn't use. So they threw it together and sell it at a discount. As well they should since it is almost valueless and cannot deliver what it promises.
